Reviews Summary

The Mangrove Hotel is praised for its breathtaking views of Roebuck Bay and its excellent location, making it a prime spot for witnessing natural phenomena like the Staircase to the Moon. Guests appreciate the well-maintained grounds and friendly staff. However, some dining experiences have been disappointing, with specific dishes receiving strong criticism for quality and value.

"Great place to be! The location is excellent—just a short walk to town—and the hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, with lush landscaping that adds to the relaxing vibe. The whole place has a great atmosphere, and the views over the bay are absolutely stunning—probably the best you can get in Broome.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything you might need. The shower was especially nice.
Staff at reception(special mention to Mao) and throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful.
The bar has a fantastic setting with those amazing views, and the cocktails were great—even though they weren’t brought to the table, which would’ve been a nice touch.
Overall, really good value for money. I’ll definitely be coming back!"

Andrea Conti

"Did not stay here so can’t comment on the rooms. The food was great. I ordered my Plan B coffee which is cappuccino large with oat milk. One shot plan. A is a dirty Chai but a few places know how to make it properly. I did not request plan a because we were in a hurry."

Sharon Munroe

"We did not stay at the hotel - only had lunch at The Bay Club restaurant. We were able to snag a shaded table on the outdoor balcony facing Roebuck Bay. Food, cider and beer on tap were quite good. The atmosphere was relaxed with a good mix of couples (mostly older) and families. The highlight is the view over the stunning turquoise colours of Roebuck Bay. Many birds were, visible even at midday, and we could see the tide coming in. You carry your own drinks back to the table, but food came out pretty quick and service was friendly.

We walked in on a weekday at 12 pm; moderate crowd and not everyone could get a shaded table (it was very sunny and warm). I suspect it would be very crowded for sunset."

Jazza!

The Best Restaurants in Broome

Johnny Sausage is one of Broome’s best restaurants, and will have you crooning a happy, pasta-fuelled tune as you settle into its warm and friendly dining room. Order up a bottle of your favourite vino bianco and a few starters to get the ball rollin’. Dishes like gnocco fritto with taleggio and prosciutto San Daniele, kingfish crudo with buttermilk, green chilli and apple, tomato carpaccio topped with burrata and basil, and charred Fremantle octopus with smoked eggplant make choosing near impossible!

Best spots to visit during your Broome Holiday

The Bay Club at the Mangrove Hotel is an outdoor bar and restaurant that overlooks Roebuck Bay and is a favourite cocktail spot of mine. You can order cocktails, a cold beer or wine to cool off from the heat and also get a bite to eat from their fabulous menu. It’s a popular spot to view the changing sky colour at sunset which can be spectacular against the red pindan soil, green mangroves and turquoise water.

Best French Bakery in Shire Of Broome

During the heyday of Broome’s pearling industry, the pearlers (many from China, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Europe) would arrive back on shore cashed up and head to the opium dens and billiard halls of Chinatown. Now, Chinatown is Broome’s main shopping district. It’s a fascinating mix of Colonial and corrugated sheds next to colourful Asian architecture.
