Aunty Jacks is a new brewpub where you can come and develop your knowledge of the beer brewing process via special masterclasses, guest speakers and guided tastings.

The newest addition to Ballarat’s brewpub scene, Aunty Jacks was aided into existent by funding from the Victorian Government, granted in order to establish a Victorian Craft Beer Centre of Excellence. Spearheaded by one of the best-known figures in the Australian brewing industry Peter Aldred, who previously headed up the brewing courses at Federation University before failing at retirement and instead ending up back on the tools, the majority of the beer flowing through the venue's taps is brewed on site. An addition to their own beers, Aunty Jacks serves up a range of other Aussie offerings, both those from the city's other brewers and the craft brands now stablemates within Asahi / CUB, such as Balter and 4 Pines.

Although Ballarat is already regarded as the centre of Australian craft brewing, the primary ambition of Aunty Jack Hotel is to establish the concept even further and make itself the main reason for Ballarat becoming Australia’s craft brewing centre. Aunty Jack’s produces beer, including lager, session ale, pale ale, IPA, porter, and other unique flavours. A variety of share plates, snacks, and pizzas are available at Aunty Jack’s if you get hungry while there.

In the safe hands of overachieving brewmaster Peter Aldred, this Ballarat brewery consistently offers a stellar line-up of unfiltered lagers, pale ales, and IPAs. Curious drinkers thirsty for more knowledge of the brewing process can sign up for Aunty Jacks’ Sunday Beer School or a brewery tour. There’s plenty of indulgent ‘dude food’ on the menu here too: think potato pizzas, fried chicken burgers and triple choc brownies.
