Dinner and cocktails: A friend had recommended Salt in Blloku (where else?), an upmarket and evidently popular restaurant with an extensive menu covering everything from ceviche to sushi. We splashed out here, ordering a couple of cocktails, a bottle of Minuty rosé wine, spicy edamame, two plates of sushi, a pasta with duck ragù, grilled corn and creamed spinach. This feast set us back $133: a delicious and totally worthwhile finale to our trip.

If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant in Tirana to take a loved one out to (or, you know, just treat yourself like I did), SALT is a fantastic choice. The menu is a bit all over the place, but everything I ordered I found they did extremely well. My one quibble with them is that they didn’t have a few of the options on the menu at lunch – at least two of the things I asked about weren’t being served until dinner, which was a bummer.

There was one restaurant that I kept stumbling across when researching for my Tirana trip, and that was Salt. This is the perfect restaurant for a special occasion or nice night out. It’s a bit pricier, but the food offered isn’t super readily available in Tirana, so it makes sense. If you go for Happy Hour (12 pm-2 pm & 5 pm-8 pm), you can get discounted prices on sushi rolls (delicious) and cocktails (actual alcoholic drinks, not sugar water!).

For a luxurious dining or lunch experience, I recommend Salt. The interior is truly wonderful and the food was really good. This is the only place on the list that I will name as the expensive option as most dishes start from 12 Euros which is expensive for Albania and compared to other places on the list.

Salt: we went to Salt because they had some vegan options on the menu, but this place was just perfect. Located on a street full of cool bars and restaurants, Salt is a stunning place with great service and delicious food. Lunch for two including drinks and tip for 2,500 Lek.
