Reviews Summary
The Victoria Falls Hotel is celebrated for its iconic location, historic charm, and beautiful gardens, offering a classic luxury experience. While many praise the attentive staff and renovated rooms, some guests note that older accommodations and certain services like the spa can be inconsistent or overpriced. The hotel's proximity to the falls and the unique wildlife sightings in its grounds are consistent highlights.
"This iconic landmark and hotel offered an amazing location and great accommodations and decent culinary options. I did get to see the renovated, updated rooms of which mine was not and the rooms of my group needed repair, but overall it was comfortable. The staff was mainly helpful and attentive, especially the bartender, but the rest was inconsistent, especially the front of the house. My spa experience was expensive for the region and lacking."

"Newly renovated, well situated and perfectly mannered does this old lady of class come along. A hotel so classy, one hardly finds these days anymore. The staff is incredible. Customer service was through the roof. The executive lounge and rooms, including their service and staff have simply wowed us. Food options are great and of highest quality. You can easily take a walk to Viktoria Falls all by yourself. No need for a guide. Go early in the evening or late in the afternoon for the ultimate experience. Breakfast is served in a beautiful serene outside space with many dietary options. Garden view is recommended, for its stunning to look at the bridge connection Zimbabwe and Zambia. Thank you to the entire team, for making this an incredible calming experience.
PS: When we booked the Zambezi River Cruise and weren't too lucky with the food (I don't want to go into detail, for it might have been a one-time mishap and the overall experience was quite nice), the hotel instantaneously took care of it, without us even asking for any reimbursement."

"Luxurious hotel from the outside and terrible inside! This hotel is not worth the money. The rooms are old and worn out to the limit. Fine dining a la cart was not available for hotel guests without a reservation, this is completely unacceptable for a five star hotel. Cocktails by the pool were disgustingly prepared. I recommend considering newer hotels on the Zambian side."

Ensure you book family-friendly dining options in advance, as the hotel can get busy with tour groups.
💰 Budget Travelers
To experience the falls without the high hotel cost, consider staying in more budget-friendly guesthouses or lodges in Victoria Falls town or Livingstone, Zambia. You can still visit the hotel for a meal or a drink on the veranda to soak in the atmosphere and views, without the nightly accommodation expense. Prioritize free or lower-cost activities like walking to the falls and exploring the town.
