What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Angel's Pool as an unbelievable rush and a life-changing experience, often calling it the highlight of their trips. The safety provided by guides is consistently praised, making it accessible even for non-swimmers. Some note the cold water and the need for aqua shoes, but these are minor points against the overwhelming positive feedback.
"Unbelievable & such a rush! You'll love it! Of course everyone knows of Devil's Pool but when the falls are really pumping & there is so much water, Devil's is closed & Angel's is open. Do it but be aware there is alot of water & the safety precautions in place are two guides with strong grips on your ankles. At no point was this concerning for me though. Be prepared to walk around in your swimwear for 15-20mins before getting in the water. You'll be taken on a short walk to various sites near the edge of the falls for different photo opportunities. Fear not, it's worth it for this once in a lifetime experience! Totally worth it"

"Wow I have been many times to Victoria falls and this is the first time I did this epic adventure. Definitely the highlight of all my adventures better than the rafting. I would say this is a must for everyone visiting. Our guide Collins and two safety guys Andrew and Steven were amazing. Life Chang experience"

"The Zambezi would not allow us to visit Devils Pool due the high waters however Angels Pool did not disappoint!!
I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Zambia!
The staff assisting us were amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly and were excellent at ensuring we felt safe throughout the experience! I highly recommend doing this - although if you’re scared of heights this will be a difficult, one but very much worth it!
Angels Pool is perfect for those who cannot swim or aren’t huge fans of water (although you will get very wet on this activity!)"

Angel's Pool vs. Devil's Pool
Angel's Pool, also on the Zambian side, serves as a fantastic alternative, especially when Devil's Pool is inaccessible due to high water levels. It's generally considered safer and more accessible for a wider range of visitors, including those who cannot swim. Guides play a crucial role in ensuring everyone's safety, providing a secure grip. The water in Angel's Pool is described as very cold but incredibly refreshing. Both offer a unique, adrenaline-pumping perspective of one of the world's largest waterfalls, but Angel's Pool provides a more relaxed yet still exhilarating encounter with the falls' power.
Safety and Guidance at the Edge
Before entering the water, there's usually a short walk to various viewpoints, allowing for photo opportunities and acclimatization to the surroundings. Visitors are advised to wear swimwear and aqua shoes, as they will inevitably get wet from the spray. The water itself, while cold, is part of the invigorating experience. The entire process is managed to provide an unforgettable adventure while prioritizing the well-being of every guest.
Best Seasons and Water Levels
Conversely, during the dry season, from August to October, water levels are at their lowest. This is when Devil's Pool is most accessible and popular. Angel's Pool is still a viable option during these times, offering a different perspective. Therefore, the 'best time' to visit Angel's Pool is often dictated by when Devil's Pool is closed, making the shoulder seasons and periods of high flow ideal for experiencing Angel's Pool. Always check with local tour operators for the most current conditions and recommendations.
