"Amazing Armenian church"
Artash Arturi
"The Armenian Church of St. Hripsime in Yalta is one of the most striking places in Crimea, combining architecture and history. Built in the early 20th century with funds from oil industrialist Poghos Gukasov in memory of his daughter, the church amazes with its beauty and details. Architect Gabriel Ter-Mikelyan based the church on the ancient Church of St. Hripsime in Echmiadzin, and the painting was done by the talented artist Vardges Surenyants, who only managed to complete the dome. The artist is buried on the slope of the hill near the church. The church is built of volcanic tuff, decorated with openwork ornaments and thought out to the smallest detail. One of the entrances is false, designed as a niche, and the path to the church leads up a staircase, from which a breathtaking view opened up. However, now the trees have grown and the view is no longer the same as during construction. Inside, the frescoes and light pouring through the twelve windows of the dome are mesmerizing. The Armenian Church is not only a place of worship, but also a place where famous films were shot. Nowadays, chamber concerts are held here."

"Beautiful architecture, and probably one of the few places in Yalta where you can go without paying. I recommend visiting, standing at the gate, the breathtakingly beautiful and majestic building."
