What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
VietClimb is praised for its modern, well-designed indoor climbing walls and creative route setting, offering a top-tier experience. However, the condition of the mats is a recurring negative point, impacting safety and comfort. The gym boasts a friendly community vibe, making it a great social hub for climbers.
"Decided to visit on Sunday morning. Looks like 20 moms and their kids had the same idea. So when I entered the gym, it was absolute madness. Of course, most of the kids were not even climbing, just chilling on the mats under the boulders, leaving trash on the mats. The moms were occupying another wall as well :/
There were a few other foreigners, at least one couple left very shortly because they couldn't take it. I guess the gym can't reject a big group like this and I also assume they told them about the rules.
One of the staff lady helped me to move the kids away from the mats. And she was telling me that they will go away in 1 hr... which eventually happened, thank god.
Anyway, I will not consider this experience in my rating.
(so why did I write it lol)
Pros - this gym has definitely the best looking walls by far. I'm not sure if it's the walls themselves (not bland like other gyms) or the boulder holds and route setting - probably a combination of both. This is the only gym that reminded me of "western/modern" gyms.
The boulders were also great, a lot of big holds! Unfortunately my pinky "cracked" on the first 5, so I was trying to take it easy. The grades are btw listed on papers around the gym, the colors don't mean anything (I think).
You can pay with a card. Lockers have keys, no need to bring padlock. Free water. After my injury, I emailed the gym to advise some doctor, after a few days I got a reply :)
Cons - the mats are a total mess, too soft, uneven, tearing in many places. After I showered my feet, the water stopped working everywhere and the lady told me it will take like 30 minutes :)
So just because of the mats (the worst) + water (unfortunate) I take down 1 star. With normal mats it would be probably the best gym in Hanoi. For me."

"Great route setting that demands techniques and focuses heavily on footwork. They used a variety of holds here so there is good exposure.
Only thing that stops it from being a 5 star is the uneven mats that threaten to break my ankles every time I fall off a route 🥲 Hope the management changes the mats soon - your customers need to be able bodied to return to your gym! :)"

"Very nice climbing gym has a variety of routes and grades as well as kilter board and moonboard 2024. Bathroom is very clean and big, they had out stickers for free and sell a bunch of equipment as well as belts out of used ropes. The only thing is the mats are a bit wobbly so you should be careful when jumping down and the workout area is pretty small."
