What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Turtle Lake and its associated restaurant highlight a unique blend of community atmosphere and quality offerings, with many praising the craft beer and food. However, one reviewer experienced significant frustration with customer service regarding a lost credit card, leading to inconvenience and unexpected fees.
"This is one of my favorite places in Hanoi! The cherry pop is my favorite but what’s best is Sunday funday DJ set. It’s one of the best community centered events and it feels like a home away from home. The parm fries, fresh coconut with rum, and wings are my favorite. The staff is so kind and considerate definitely check them out!"

"Used to like this place and visit many times before. Not outstanding food or beer but pretty like the atmosphere here. A decent beer place around West lake still. However the experience yesterday may prevent me from returning. I made a payment with my credit card and it took awhile since I need to wait for them to go grab the phone to take photo of VAT invoice info. I forgot the card there (early in the afternoon) and found out I lost my card around 5pm. Called to check with the restaurant but they kept confirming they return already, no card there and that I need to double check to find it. So after checking every where possible I decided to reissue a new one and report it lost. I just locked the card and only until 4:00 pm today (which is nearly 1 day after I called them yesterday), I went to the bank to report lost card and ask for re-issuance the new one. Got back home at 4:10 pm and got the call from the restaurant to said that they found my card, and that by the end of yesterday when clean up everything they found out. But why not call earlier today??! You have around 7 working hours but not call to inform me?!! The end result is the lost card that they said “found” is useless by the time they called because the bank locked to replace new already and I had to pay the fee to replace it thanks to their “in-time helpful” support. 🙃"

Turtle Lake is not just a restaurant - it’s THE destination in Hanoi and hands-down the most unique venue in all of Southeast Asia.
Walk in and you’re immediately hit with the jaw-dropping sight of a full-scale, state-of-the-art American craft brewery right in the middle of the restaurant, pumping out 20 outstanding house-brewed beers on tap. This is the ONLY genuine American brewery-restaurant in the entire region, nothing else even comes close.
The space itself is stunning: massive curved wooden bar, pro tournament-level pool table, electronic darts, luxury leather & wood seating everywhere, huge patio, outdoor event lawn that hosts epic monthly parties (the Latino Festival with authentic food stalls, live bands, DJs and MCs is legendary), and an incredible 2nd-floor private venue with its own bar and the best balcony in Hanoi - panoramic sunset views over the lake that will literally take your breath away.
The food? Michelin-star quality without the pretension. Every dish is executed to perfection, flavors are bold and refined, portions generous. Cocktails and shooters are creative and dangerous (in the best way). Beer obviously world-class.
Service is next-level; the entire team treats you like family while staying totally professional. Shoutout to Mr Lamont (owner) and every single staff member for building something this special.
We came for one drink… ended up here literally every single day (lunch, sunset, dinner, late-night, doesn’t matter). Breakfast menu is coming soon and we already know we’ll be first in line.
Turtle Lake has become the heart of Hanoi’s expat community and the #1 must-visit spot for travelers who want the real, vibrant Hanoi experience. Everyone is welcome, everyone is respectful, and the vibe is simply unmatched.
If you’re in Vietnam and you don’t come here, you messed up your trip. Simple as that.
Thank you Mr Lamont & team ❤️
See you again tonight.
