What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tam Coc Ninh Binh is widely praised for its breathtaking natural beauty, with visitors often highlighting the stunning karst landscapes and picturesque rice paddies. The boat tours are a popular activity, offering a unique perspective of the region. While some find the boat tours a bit touristy, the overall experience is highly recommended for its scenic charm and peaceful atmosphere.
"Tam Cốc – Bích Động in Ninh Bình is one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking destinations, often called “Ha Long Bay on land.” The area is famous for its dramatic limestone karst mountains, winding rivers, and lush rice fields that change colors with the seasons. A boat trip along the Ngô Đồng River is the highlight, where local rowers—often using their feet—guide visitors through tranquil waterways and caves while surrounded by stunning natural scenery.
The three caves of Tam Cốc (Hang Cả, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba) are carved naturally into the limestone cliffs and offer a unique sense of adventure as boats pass through their cool, echoing chambers. Nearby, Bích Động Pagoda adds a cultural touch, with its beautiful temples nestled on a mountainside and views stretching across the countryside.
For photographers, this region is a dream. The reflections of the cliffs in the calm river, the vibrant green or golden tones of the rice fields depending on the season, and the interplay of light and shadow inside the caves all provide endless creative opportunities. Sunrise and sunset are especially magical, casting warm tones over the karst peaks.
Tam Cốc – Bích Động is both peaceful and awe-inspiring, making it a destination where natural beauty and cultural heritage come together perfectly."

"Very beautiful boat trip through the valley and several caves. The nature here is just stunning. When it started raining, our boat driver kindly gave us an umbrella. For us, the trip was just the right length, although I can imagine some people might prefer it shorter. There was some queuing to get on the boats, but it was reasonable. The swimming vests were a bit worn out."

"The overall experience was good. For the first time I saw so many lotus while having the boat ride. The first cave was long and the other 2 were short and low in height so big people needs to mind their head.
Advise: bring umbrella to avoid from direct sunlight or untimely rain. I visited in hot summer that's why it was very hot in boat riding. Riding time is total 1.5 hours so enjoy the view."
