Having pho for breakfast is a game changer. 📍Phở Gia Truyền Bát Đàn - probably the best place to get pho in Hanoi. Always busy, packed with both locals and tourists. I recommend going early so you don’t miss out. Also try it with the Chinese Donuts, you might like it! $$: 50k ($3 AUD) #pho #hanoi #hanoifood #viet #vietnam #vietnamtravel #reviewanngon #ancungtiktok #homnayangi #foodie #vietnames...

Reviews Summary

Pho Gia Truyen Bat Dan is celebrated for its exceptionally flavorful and authentic beef pho, with a rich, subtly sweet broth and tender meat that many find unforgettable. Diners appreciate the genuine local atmosphere and the value for money. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the restaurant's cleanliness and the self-service model.

"I can say that their Pho is truly one of a kind! The soup was rich with a slight sweetness, and the beef was incredibly flavorful. I’m not sure if it was aged, but you could see the slabs of meat displayed at the counter, and they slice it fresh for every serving ! such a nice touch.

The ambiance was great, too. Lots of locals were dining here, which made me feel fully immersed in Hanoi’s night culture. A memorable and authentic experience!"

"During my trip to Hanoi, one of the must-try local dishes on my list was the famous phở bò and everyone recommended Phở 49 Bát Đàn. The place was always busy, with locals and tourists lining up from early morning, which already told me it had to be special.

When I finally got my bowl, the first spoon of broth was unforgettable clear, flavorful, and rich with the aroma of slow-cooked beef bones. The noodles were silky, and the beef slices were tender and perfectly balanced with the broth. It tasted like comfort in a bowl.

The shop itself is small and simple, but that’s exactly what makes it authentic. You sit side by side with locals, enjoy your pho in the warm morning air, and feel the real rhythm of Hanoi life.

If you’re visiting Hanoi, don’t miss Phở 49 Bát Đàn. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience that captures the heart and flavor of Vietnam."

"I won’t lie the pho here is tasty. However, the cleanliness of the restaurant is a major turn-off. The space appears dirty, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable using the chili condiments or even the utensils.

There were about six staff members present during our visit, yet only two were actually serving customers. The others were standing around when they could have been cleaning or helping. The floor was littered with used tissues, and our table was still dirty from the previous customer.

You order and pay first, then carry your own steaming hot bowl of pho to the table, which felt odd given the number of staff on duty. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. It honestly made me question how this place earned Michelin stars when basic hygiene standards seem to be lacking."
