Reviews Summary
Pho Bang Ancient Town is praised for its beautiful, ancient architecture and the warm hospitality of its residents, offering a peaceful escape. While some find it lacking in services and a bit of a 'ghost town' vibe, others appreciate its untouched charm and unique cultural blend near the Chinese border.
"The owner cooks amazing food. But apart from food what wins the hearts is the hospitality. He's a very humble guy raising 3 children on his own. Must try this place if you are visiting Pho Bang. Homely ambiance, amazing service and free tea at the end is a perfect finisher.
Perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner."

"No entrance fees to visit Pho Bang Old Town. We drove on our motorcycle on a rainy day, it's been raining for 3 days in the area and it was a bit muddy going up here.
There's not a lot of tourists, but we saw a lot of homestays in the area. It gave a ghost town vibe. Construction of roads within the old town are also underway. The houses' walls here are still made of mud and clay, pretty interesting to see. There's a lot of Chinese influence in the structure and decor since China is just a few kilometers away.
I don't recommend going out of your way to come here. Nothing much to see."
