"If you bigger size and need time to do thinks I suggest not to do fast tour to get island. It doesn’t worth it. I will say if you have to go take ferry and watch return or stay over night and real enjoy time on island."

"Magnificent nature, the island naturally decorated by many flowers especially the red flowers accross the beach and mountains. Many beaches have white sand and blue water, you can discover coral reef as well.
I really love many old trees here.
The island is well protect from plastic, no plastic bags allow to use here.
Will visit here again if i have free time"

"We hired a boat to try and avoid the crowds but it just took us to the same places as the tour boats which were crowded. Snorkelling was disappointing and we have seen much better elsewhere. The beach that the tours take you to is horrendous as it is full of tourists packed in, the food served is not good at all. We hired scooters with drivers to get away from the tourist beach and it was the best thing we did. We saw a stunning small beach, the small port and a temple - all lovely. Catch a ferry and explore - avoid the tour boat packages."

The Cham Islands Marine Protected Area
While the marine park is a draw for its natural beauty, some visitors have noted that the coral reefs have seen better days, with some areas appearing half-dead. However, for those new to snorkeling or diving, the clear waters still offer a pleasant experience with visible marine life. The islands are also actively protected from plastic waste, with a ban on plastic bags, contributing to their pristine environment.
Conservation efforts are ongoing, and responsible tourism plays a key role in preserving this natural gem. By choosing eco-friendly tours and respecting the environment, visitors can help ensure the Cham Islands remain a beautiful destination for years to come.
Getting Around and Accommodation
Booking accommodation directly through homestays can also simplify ferry ticket arrangements. Some homestays, like Hai Long in Bai Huong, have been noted for their good service and ability to assist with travel logistics. This approach often leads to a more personalized and less tourist-centric experience compared to packaged tours.
While some visitors have reported feeling pressured by vendors, opting for direct bookings and local services can mitigate this. The island offers a peaceful atmosphere, especially in the evenings and early mornings, making an overnight stay a worthwhile consideration for those looking to relax and enjoy the natural beauty.
The Cham Islands Experience: Beyond the Tourist Trail
For those who prefer a slower pace, staying overnight is key. This allows you to witness the island's tranquility after the day-trippers depart. You can enjoy the clean atmosphere, crystal-clear waters, and friendly locals at your own leisure. Snorkeling or diving excursions can be arranged through your hotel, offering a chance to explore the underwater world.
Some travelers have expressed concerns about feeling 'ripped off' on the islands, suggesting that independent exploration or direct booking with local services might lead to a better experience. The islands are naturally beautiful, with old trees and unique flora, making them a worthwhile destination if approached with the right expectations and planning.
