Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the museum for its beautiful colonial architecture and diverse collection of Vietnamese art, from traditional to contemporary. It's considered a worthwhile and affordable cultural experience, offering a peaceful escape from the city bustle. Some note inconsistent lighting and that the building could benefit from renovations.

"The museum building is a colonial-era mansion. There are exhibits both outside and inside. There are collections of both ancient and modern art. Overall, a very interesting museum, and it's nice that it's full of young people! Absolutely worth a visit!"

Tanya Shu

"Overall I liked the place, definitely worth the ~$1.5 entry fee. Some rooms have AC, I think that's more to preserve the work than cool the guests.

Lots of beautiful young people come here to take photos of themselves, which is in stark contrast to the intent of an art gallery, to appreciate artists and their work. The lighting was a major let down, lots of the spotlights didn't work which meant some of the art had lopsided lighting.

Best part was the lower room of building 2, which seems to entirely house work from the last few years. Interesting that there wasn't any of the vapid youth in this area. Some of the art down there was incredible, at least to my tastes."

Devin Linnington

"Didn’t really see this on many guides to Ho Chi Minh but would definitely recommend if you like art museums. Interesting and beautiful building (lots of people there just to take photos standing outside). Good variety of work. Only had an hour and half but could have spent more time wondering round at a slower pace. And as not as popular as other tourist spots was relatively quiet so no rushed atmosphere."
