What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cộng Cà Phê is celebrated for its unique, nostalgic ambiance and its signature coconut coffee. Visitors love the retro decor and the prime locations, especially those with views of landmarks. However, some find the drink flavors inconsistent, and service can be slow due to crowds, with cash being the preferred payment method.
"Good location with a nice vibe.
Drinks are a bit mixed—some are good, some are unusual.
The coconut coffee smells great, but the taste was strange for me. It feels more like coffee mixed with coconut cream rather than coconut juice, so it comes across a bit cheesy. I personally prefer the coconut juice–style coffee instead.
My friend ordered a soda-based drink and that one was great—very refreshing.
The watermelon juice tastes real, so it’s a safe order.
The vibe is especially nice on days with low PM2.5 since it’s semi-outdoor.
Sipping coffee and chatting with friends in the middle of a shopping street near the cathedral is just perfect."

"The café is right across from St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Hanoi, so it’s always crowded and almost always full. The view facing the cathedral is beautiful, no doubt about it. Because there are so many customers, drinks take a bit longer to arrive. The drinks are decent, the menu is varied, and the prices aren’t too high. The café doesn’t accept cards — only bank transfer or cash. If you like coffee, you should try the coconut coffee; it’s quite good."

"We sat upstairs in a nice cozy little place with a view of the church outside. Remember to have coffee and chill. The coffee takes a while and some may wonder why but I didn't ask questions. I just patiently waited and absorbed the surroundings and enjoyed the atmosphere. When my coffee finally arrived it was wonderful- probably the best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had. Everything was perfect. If I had more time, I would make this my regular coffee stop."
