What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about the signature Cha Ca, praising its tender fish, aromatic dill, and interactive tableside preparation. Many consider it the best meal in Hanoi, highlighting the fresh accompaniments and friendly service. However, a few reviews mention concerns about pricing transparency and cleanliness.
"We recently visited Chả Cá Thăng Long and had a truly memorable dining experience centered around their signature dish.
The main attraction, Chả Cá (Grilled Chopped Fish), is an outstanding Hanoi specialty served sizzling in a pan over a mini-burner, as explained on the menu. The fish pieces were tender and delicious, and the experience was enhanced by the great demonstration by the staff, who helped toss the fish with the heaps of dill and spring onions at our table. It was fresh, aromatic, and perfectly complemented by the accompanying rice vermicelli, roasted peanuts, and dipping sauces.
Beyond the signature dish, we also tried the Fish Spring Rolls from the set menu. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, and the dining experience was excellent.
A minor initial hiccup was that our Google Maps directions led us to a different address, but the staff there quickly directed us to a more spacious venue nearby (likely the one shown in the exterior photo), which was appreciated."
