"The Saigon Skydeck, located on the 49th floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City, offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the city. The observatory is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the vibrant skyline of Saigon, especially during clear days or just before sunset. The glass windows provide an unobstructed view, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts.

The Skydeck also has a souvenir shop for those looking to take home memorabilia. The experience is enhanced by the modern amenities, including air conditioning and binoculars for a closer look at distant attractions.
The ticket prices are reasonable, with discounts available for children, seniors, and disabled individuals. The Skydeck is open daily from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM, allowing ample time to explore and soak in the views. "We booked our tickets online, but at the reception the staff first said they didn’t recognize the provider and couldn’t scan our QR code. This caused some unnecessary hassle, and in the end they simply scanned the same QR code and it worked. After that, everything went smoothly: the elevator ride up was quick, and from the observation deck you get a 360° view over Ho Chi Minh City. The view was beautiful, especially at sunset, with floor-to-ceiling windows giving a wide perspective. The only drawback was the strong reflections from the interior lights on the glass, which made photos and videos difficult. The price is high for Vietnam, but the view makes it worth it."

📸 Photography Enthusiasts
Consider bringing a versatile lens that can handle both wide-angle city views and telephoto shots of distant landmarks. While tripods may be restricted, a steady hand or a monopod can be helpful for low-light photography. The cultural exhibits, like the Ao Dai display, also offer unique photographic subjects.
Deep Dives
In-depth insights and expert knowledge
The Iconic Bitexco Financial Tower
The tower houses offices, a hotel, a shopping mall, and, most famously, the Saigon Skydeck on its 49th floor. This observation deck offers unparalleled panoramic views, allowing visitors to grasp the sheer scale and energy of the bustling metropolis below. The tower's presence has significantly contributed to the city's modern skyline and its appeal as a tourist destination.
Beyond its visual appeal, the Bitexco Financial Tower represents Vietnam's rapid economic growth and its emergence on the global stage. It's a hub of business and a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking a bird's-eye perspective of Saigon's vibrant life.
Experiencing the Saigon Skydeck
Beyond the views, the Skydeck incorporates cultural elements. An Ao Dai exhibition showcases the beauty and history of Vietnam's traditional dress, offering a glimpse into the nation's heritage. Another engaging feature is the interactive bamboo installation, where visitors can add their own small bamboo sticks, creating a collaborative art piece that grows over time. These elements add depth to the experience, blending modern sightseeing with cultural appreciation.
While the primary draw is the view, the Skydeck also offers a bar for refreshments and a souvenir shop. The staff are generally noted as friendly and welcoming, contributing to a pleasant visit. It's a perfect spot to reflect on the city's dynamism and capture memorable photos, despite potential challenges with glass reflections.
Navigating Photography Challenges
To mitigate this, several techniques can be employed. Shooting at an angle rather than directly perpendicular to the glass can help reduce glare. Using a lens hood can also block some of the internal light from hitting the lens directly. Visiting during times when the interior lighting is less intense, or when the exterior light is brighter, might also be beneficial.
Experimenting with different shooting times and angles is key. While tripods might be restricted due to space, a steady hand or a monopod can help in low-light conditions. Despite these challenges, the unique perspective offered by the Skydeck makes it a worthwhile location for photography enthusiasts looking to capture Ho Chi Minh City from above.
