While the beach itself is rocky and requires water shoes, the underwater experience is considered exceptional and well worth the effort to reach this quiet, off-the-beaten-path location.
"Great snorkeling. Health plant and coral life. Please keep it this way. Only stand on sand!!!"
Joseph Bass
"This “beach” is great for snorkeling and off shore diving. The beach is extremely rocky, not just pebbles. There is no area of the beach where you can enter without walking on sand covered rocks. We’ve gone to South Haulover Bay twice now. The sea life is amazing and the coral is beautiful. It’s one of the only places where the coral doesn’t seem to be damaged from the hurricane. To the very left and right sides of the bay are amazing places to snorkel and also scuba dive. We went diving there towards the edge of the bay and reached about 45ft. The water is as calm as a lake. No facilities, limited parking, but no hiking to get to the beach. The photos were taken in November close to sunset."

"Rocky beach with a little bit of sand. Very quiet & off the beaten path. Great for snorkeling songs sea grass beds & large coral reef. Saw lots of fish, a few green sea turtles & a spotted eagle ray."
