What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral for its breathtaking beauty, both inside and out, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere during mass. Many highlight the stimulating homilies and the spiritual richness of the experience. Some note that parking can be limited, and the cathedral might be smaller than expected from photos, but this often contributes to a more intimate feel.
"I love attending mass at this beautiful, historic Cathedral anytime I’m visiting St. Thomas. The congregation is warm and welcoming. The priest is excellent. I didn’t get to stay long after mass, but it appears there are several relics on display: relics from St. Ursula, (patroness of the Virgin Islands) St. Anne, and St. Teresa of Avila. I am curious to know more about the history of the church itself as it recently celebrated its 250 year anniversary in June 2024. Parking in the area seems limited (I was dropped off right outside the entrance), so something to consider if you’re driving."

"Had mass at this beautiful cathedral ! Priest’s homily was very stimulating."

"What a beautiful cathedral! We’re in St. Thomas for a short stay and we participated innthe Saturday evening Vigil Mass for Palm Sunday. Unfortunately, they started with the blessing of the palms before Mass and we arrived in the middle of that part of the Mass. Mass was very nice. No musical instruments were available, so some of the locals led the hymns. That was nice!
The cathedral is so beautiful, the online pictures do not do it justice. It’s smaller than you think when looking at the pictures, but we found that to be a good thing, the smallness gave a feeling of intimacy to the Mass, which was wonderful. At the end of the Mass, during the announcements, we were asked to, and did, stand up to be recognized as “visitors,” and were warmly greeted by all. Very friendly folks in the parish! We briefly spoke with Fr. Marcel after Mass, he approached us as the identified “visitors.” LOL He is a very dedicated priest, loves the parish, and said he feels the love from the members of the parish.
I’ll attach a bunch of pictures to this review, with the caveat that the cathedral is so much more beautiful in person. Stop by for a visit when you’re in STT, all are welcome. We look forward to participating in the Mass here again. Highly recommend Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral!"
