"The Feria de Villa Biarritz operates in one of the finest civic spaces in the city of Montevideo, the Parque Juan Zorilla de San Martin, surrounded by mostly mid-rise apartment buildings and with a major recreational institution, the Bigua. The major market day is Saturday, when a range of food, clothing, jewelry, household products and other vendors have their goods on display/for sale. On Tuesdays, mostly food vendors show up (farm produce, cheese, meat, fish, etc.). The feria is probably not as attractive a tourist destination as it is a valuable community resource for fresh produce and a range of products that are regularly purchased and consumed. The Park offers a delightful playground for young children; benches and other seating just to enjoy the outdoors; and nearby cafes (Alegria Cafe on Vazquez Ledesma; Oro del Rhin and Martinez on the corner of Berro and 21 de Septiembre; and others)."
