"Beautiful pool, rec swim on Saturday after 12 pm. Super nice staff at pool check in. Really really nice lifeguard named Alex helped me check on pool temp and chemicals. So they Offer $3 rates for military, Disabled, and other public officials. ( Ask I forgot all included!) Regular rate is $5 per day. Beautiful walk on grassy area with at least 25 beautiful trees!! First time here and really enjoyed our walk and visit. Courts tennis and pickleball we're NOT crowded either! Very nice!! 5 stars... Also several birthday get together in park gave nice atmosphere and just joyful feeling. Love, love the " community feel" here... So safe, kids all playing either in playground or pool area. Great for dog walking and seems responsible owners cleaned up!! Thank God!!"

"Pickleball courts are fantastic however the wind can be an issue. Also if not a member there's no way to find outside open play and if u show up the club is not very receptive to people(in my experience"

"In December I'm going to be 39. I went to Franklin and I will never ever forget. The best days of my life are middle school and the past four years; years with my husband. If anybody reading this believes in the stone tape theory, and you went to Franklin Middle school, go experience your memories in full reality."

Franklin Park Pool: Your Summer Escape
Beyond the swimming, the pool area is noted for its super nice staff at check-in, with one reviewer specifically mentioning a lifeguard named Alex who was helpful. While the regular rate is $5, there are discounted rates available for military personnel, disabled individuals, and other public officials, so it's worth inquiring about these at the entrance. The pool offers a great way to beat the heat and create lasting memories.
Pro-tip: On particularly hot days, consider visiting earlier in the day or on weekdays to potentially avoid the largest crowds. The park district's website is the best resource for the most current operating hours and any specific rules or regulations for the pool.
Pickleball and Tennis: A Courtly Affair
However, a common point of discussion, particularly for pickleball players, is the impact of wind. The open nature of the courts can sometimes make play challenging when it's breezy. Additionally, some visitors have noted that for those who are not members of a club associated with the courts, it can be difficult to find information about or join outside open play sessions. The receptiveness of club members to non-members has also been a point of feedback for some.
Despite these minor challenges, the courts are generally not crowded, offering ample opportunity to play. If you're keen on pickleball, arriving during less windy times or connecting with local players beforehand might enhance your experience.

Visitors appreciate that the park is well-kept and free from 'riff raff,' contributing to a pleasant and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're walking your dog, enjoying a picnic, or attending a summer concert, the park's positive vibe is a recurring theme in reviews.
The park also serves as a backdrop for memorable experiences. For some, it evokes nostalgic feelings of past joys, like middle school days, while for others, it's a place to create new memories with loved ones. This blend of personal history and present enjoyment underscores the park's significance to its visitors.
