"This is a wonderful property for a botanizing walk. I attended a field study at Eshqua Bog with the Native Plant Trust led by Mr. Ted Elliman (author of Wildflowers of New England) and was absolutely delighted by the immense population of Showy Lady's Slipper orchid. There's also a massive community of cinnamon ferns that the orchids grow amongst and it's just wonderfully charming. Our group spent a bit of time admiring the fen's plant life.
There is a reasonably accessible boardwalk that takes visitors through the orchids and ferns, which ends at a diverging trail loop. We took the northern loop, which went into the mountain a little before coming back down over a small stream with another board walk. It's a relatively short loop but you see much plant life and hear many bird songs along the way. A great way to spend a few hours just immersed in nature.
Parking seems like it can be tricky. My group parked along the dirt road, which was fine but getting to the main road required a multi point turn. Be careful of cyclists although cars and bikes alike were respectful of each other during my visit. The parking lot does have an outhouse that's reasonably clean given the traffic, but bring your own tissues just in case! It's still a heavily used accomodation."

"Yellow lady slippers are out! About ~30+ slippers. Very easy walk around the bog. The north and south loopes are about ~1.25 miles each. Very easy walking, there are root and rocks in the middle of the trails. Parking is limited, it was very busy. Went on a Sunday afternoon, it was damp and cold out. Lots of different unique flowers and ferns to see throughout the whe year as the temperatures change. Will go back to see more. I was there for about 1.75 hours total."
