Things to do in Wolfeboro?
myself and my college aged friends are spending a week at a cottage in Wolfeboro and don’t know anything about the area. I was born in Nashua but haven’t even been in the state since I was a little kid. Any suggestions appreciated :) edit: we’re going in March and willing to…
Where is your favorite spot to XC Ski?
Looking for fun spots. We went to Abenaki/Wolfeboro 2 weeks ago and King Pine last week. If you can't tell I am in southern NH near the Seacoast. Where would you go to XC Ski if you were me? Thanks for the suggestions.

Reviews Summary
Abenaki Ski Area is widely praised for its exceptional affordability and beginner-friendly environment, making it a beloved spot for families and new skiers. While most visitors rave about the friendly staff, low prices, and unique tow rope experience, a rare negative experience involving parking instructions highlights the importance of clear communication during busy events.
"For what it is, I think it’s great!
💵 $16 per person during the week and kids under 5 are just $5
if you’re a beginner or intermediate, this mountain is a steal. Most of the trails are blue with green spots.
Get an arm workout with 2 tow ropes…. One goes all the way up and one for the kiddie area.
Lodge is adorable and they had a nice concession stand with snacks at a fair price.
Clean restrooms
Cubbies for your belongings.
The staff and patrons were the nicest I have met at a mountain. Happy to help and offer advice to a less-than-brave noob. :)
There is a ski club that offers reasonably priced private lessons. Call the rental desk and they can give you names and numbers of trainers to coordinate with."

"This was our favorite mountain up until recently when I brought my daughter there for a race and we were told by the parking attendant to park on the street as the lot was full. We were not told to go to a different lot. I was towed and ended up stranded with two little kids in the cold waiting to get car back for over an hour. It was horrible. Supposedly announcements were made but I was on the hill waiting for my daughter to come down the race trail so I could not hear them. I would have NEVER parked there had I not been specifically instructed to do so and the mountain offered nothing to help me. Not even refunded the cost of the race for the day. I don’t think it’s fair that I followed instructions to the letter, got stuck w $300 in towing and ticket fees, all because the parking attendants were giving wrong information. The parking attendant is now saying he was instructing people to the correct lot which is false. Had he told the truth about how he was instructing people, maybe the mountain would have helped me. We are usually the first to arrive at races as we are chronically early and only reason we were there later is because race started mid day. I’m sad as this was my daughters favorite mountain and now I feel so sad as to how this was handled and the whole experience was just awful."

"Took our 8 year old grandson to snowboard for the first time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect place to learn and practice on the small hill. Price for rental, tow ticket and concessions extremely affordable. Looking forward to returning throughout this season."
