"This was an excellent trail, not very crowded, good length, pretty views and some challenging terrain."
Nick Russo
"This was the first "real" hike we have done in a while. That being said we were excited to make it up to Schoodic trail head. It was a great morning for hiking starting at about 50 degrees, brisk but not bitter. Our favorite time! Along the way there is a ton of moss beds, which we have never seen in such abundance. We even found a little one that had recently fallen off. Also there was this moss growing on the sides of the trail that look like cotton balls. They are so cool to get down and really look at. The trail up to the Anvil is fairly easy going and quick. A little way after the Anvil is a beautiful look out 👀 from which you can see Schoodic Head and Schoodic Point as well as the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The landscape varies from level woods to rocky climbs. You can see where the land is tearing itself apart in shallow crevices. Look for the man in the rock watching over the trail! We finally made it up to the top (there is one part of the climb that is a little scary 😨 if you don't like heights but not bad)! We were able to see Buck Mountain and the ocean on either side of the peninsula. It is interesting to see forest and ocean together. The Schoodic head is 442', so a little one. On the way back down we decided to do the East Trail."

"Steep rock faces that are like very rough stairs in a few places."
