What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Fairgrounds Farmers Market for its high-quality produce and delicious baked goods at great prices, making it a favorite in Winston-Salem. However, some reviewers noted that the selection can be limited, especially outside of peak seasons or if arriving later in the day. The market's location on the fairgrounds also contributes to a unique, albeit sometimes pungent, farm ambiance.
"Fresh sourdough bread, strawberry 3 layer cake, muffins, small banana bread, German chocolate cake with homemade coconut filling, 2nd layer. Gloria Jean is a highly skilled baker. Everything we bought was excellent in flavor moist, flavorful, fresh berries. She's in Wnston Salem downtown, fair grounds location. Several others had fresh brown eggs, huge tomatoes, loaded with flavor, sweet potatoes, fresh corn and blackberry jam."

"We arrived around 10:30am. By that time there wasn't much left, not many vendors. There was about 10 booths still set up. We did find some things."

"This is our favorite Farmers Market in Winston Salem, mainly because of the quality of the produce and great prices. Cobblestone at Old Salem can be a lot of fun, but it quite a bit more pricey.
Only minor complaint is the unavoidable farm animal smell due to its location on the farm animal section of the fairground. Consider it proper ambience, like buying right from the farm!"
