"You can spend the entire day at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley! There is so much more than just a museum on the property and everything is included with your museum ticket (excluding special events). We walked through the museum - it was nice with a lot of artifacts and great information. This is a self guided tour so you walk through and read the signs. We especially enjoyed walking the grounds. Unfortunately we ran out of time and daylight to walk any of the trails available in addition to the extensive museum grounds but we will return to do that next year! We had a lot of fun locating all the statues on the scavenger hunt page available at the Garden Gate House and trying to find all the Gnomes on the property! That may have been part of the special Garden Lights event, but if the museum reads this - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU KEEP THE GNOMES and the scavenger hunt! We walked through all the homes and buildings on the museum property and all the gardens and found all but 1 Gnome! Also ... anyone visiting - you absolutely must visit the Tea House and explore the Bamboo Garden! The bamboo garden - is like walking into a jungle, it is hidden behind large red metal gates, full of mystery and excitement! Unfortunately there was a sign near the entrance that said trail was closed - so we did not go in - but I did peek my head in and I can not wait to go back and explore inside the Bamboo Garden!!!! There are also miles of trails that loop and weave around the museum grounds! The trails are free to use any day, from like 7a- dusk I believe. We will return to explore bamboo garden and all the trails when we return to the area next year! Highly recommend you visit and enjoys the history, the gardens and the trails!!!!"

"Wonderful museum rich in local history of the Shenandoah Valley. There are seasonal and annual art exhibits along with manicured gardens to explore. The 90 acres boasts more than 3 miles of walking trails and wildlife to explore. Prices are very reasonable at $25 per adult, $17 for seniors and $12 for students. Children under 12 are free. There are incredible artifacts from the early periods of the 1800s and history from earlier periods. There is a nice gift shop and bathrooms and the staff was wonderful and helpful. Great place to spend at least an hour or two inside and up to 3-4 hours walking the grounds. Highly recommend."
