What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the high quality of touring Broadway shows and the historic charm of The Playhouse on Rodney Square. However, some find the seats uncomfortable with limited legroom, and a few mention issues with staff rudeness or distractions during performances. Parking can also be a challenge for larger vehicles.
"loved the show, super cute theater, but rude staff. Some staff at window call and that let you in at entrance door are so rude and don't want to deal with your questions and be bothered. One lady rolled her eyes at me for asking a question. The show starts, probably five ushers in the back talking so loud that more than a dozen audience members had to Shhh them. You couldn't hear the beginning of the show. They say turn your phone off then an usher was on her phone whole time sitting behind me. It's not that i cared she was on her phone, it's the fact that we're told to turn them off and i'm sure if i went on mine during the show i would have been thrown out. The stairs to the bathroom are so tight you can't even form a line to get to the rest room. I would only come back here to see a show i really wanted to see. But some of the ushers and workers there were just kinda rude and inconsiderate. These all may sound like trivial things, so do with it what you will."

"Do not get seats in the mid Balcony! We tried to sit in our row B seats but couldn’t fit - our average-sized legs were too long! I would have had to spread my legs (and have my purse between them to hold down my skirt) and not move an inch for the whole performance. Noped out of there instantly and complained to the ushers who said that maybe they? someone? could reseat us, but didn’t help us do that so no Hadestown for us. Those seats should come with a warning. We’ve attended many performances here and never had seats like that. Uncomfortable doesn’t even begin to cover it."
Lynn Koehler
"The view from most all seats are great. The tickets to The Wizard of Oz were a little pricey. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. The reason for the 4 star review is that the seats are quite uncomfortable. We will go again in December to see the Illusionists. Very hard to find parking for a truck. The garages have low ceilings."
