Reviews Summary

While some note the need for funding, the free admission and rich historical content make it a highly recommended stop for those interested in local history and architecture.
"I really enjoyed this museum. The woodwork, architectural style brought back memories. I just felt I had been here before. Very organized, the volunteers are knowledgeable and helpful with added information. The school could definitely need some funding!! I had actually purchased a set of WPA dolls of which were from/made in Wichita off EBay and they offered a folder with a wealth of added information. So cool!! Some of the desks I recognized and so neat to see how things were done in the past. Worth the time and would like to go back. They also have events coming up. Love that history!!"

"I’ve been here several times to view the museum and loved it. As a retired USD 259 teacher, I had some great connections to much of what is on display: from the kinds of desks I had in my classrooms to school pride memorabilia on display.
Probably the most overlooked part of the museum is the vast amount of material in their archives that is available to the public for research. My son and I found information about a favorite teacher of his while another couple found old records of their parents during their time in school.
This place is a real treasure!!"

"My daughters, mother and I really enjoyed this museum! It is free, you can give a donation if you’d like which I did because of how much great information we got from the guide! I would go there again!"
