"Google took me to a different place than the parking area. Very nice hike. Take plenty of water and check the temperature before going."

"Visited Muggins Mountain Wilderness in November, 2020. I wanted to capture some video for my archives so thought this would be a great area to record. This is a beautiful area to explore! The weather was perfect that time of year! I didn’t complete the loop that can be hiked as I was focusing on video capture. I plan on visiting again so I can focus on the hike!"
David Veatch
"The terrain is beautiful. One of best places I have gotten to go hiking in Arizona. Granted, you can't drive through it (because it's a wilderness area) but you can drive up to the bounderary.
The wilderness boundaries are clearly marked. I didn’t have service (I have Verizon) but for the most part you can follow the wash(s) and there are a lot of landmarks. There are some harder to navigate areas. It can be a rougher walk since there isn’t any established trails but there are some game trails and a water catchment site. If you feel more adventurous. The views and the quiet of it all is breathtaking. Again the terrain is tougher in some parts; I needed to use my hands to hold on to some areas but I was also following a wash.
Bring food and water also if you don’t have a vehicle with 4-wheel drive don’t try to come. There are dirt roads that lead up to the wilderness but a lot of them can be hard to navigate: soft sand, holes, medium rocks and a few small hills."
