"I visited the Renwick Gallery during a weekend trip to DC. Honestly, it wasn’t on my original itinerary, but it turned out to be the biggest surprise of my whole trip. The building itself is beautiful, and the exhibitions are incredibly engaging.

The second floor features stunning large-scale installations — immersive, colorful, and full of intricate details. You can walk right into the spaces, get surrounded by light, textures, and shapes, and it feels like stepping into a different world. It’s the kind of art that makes you slow down, look closer, and just enjoy being there.

Definitely worth stopping by if you’re anywhere near the White House."

Exit thru the gift shop."

"I was at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian for the We Gather at the Edge exhibit (contemporary quilts by Black women artists). The exhibit itself is such a stunning, powerful collection of quilts, definitely worth visiting. I enjoyed being in the space as well. It’s designed well, it feels welcoming, cozy yet open. It’s large enough to experience without feeling overwhelmed.
The gift shop has some unique pieces (not necessarily related to the current exhibit though).
Easy to get to (right around the corner from the White House).
The staff was very kind to us, special mention to Mr. De’von Russell at the front entrance. He did his job with professionalism, courtesy and attentiveness. We felt valued as visitors. Thank you."
