What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the National Museum of African Art for its stunning architecture and captivating exhibitions, highlighting the diverse and inspiring collections of African art. Many appreciate the free admission and the unique, less crowded atmosphere compared to other Mall museums. Some minor critiques include locker functionality and the desire for more special exhibitions.
"Another astonishing Smithsonian museum. The architecture of the building is amazing and creative. The exhibitions are incredible. The souvenir shop is great with beautiful jewelry. Different types, prices and style. The staff was very friendly in the all museum. Highly recommended"
Mireille Basselin
"It's quite a modest museum at the National Mall compared to others there. Though, you may find it actually attractive: not many people there, big spaces barely filled, intricate objects. Frankly speaking, I got there by mistake. I was in the Asian Art Museum and just kept walking through the halls, one after one. I realized that it was a completely different museum only when I left it and looked back at its name. I am not sure I'd go there back unless they have some special exhibition there."
Aleksei Kudriashov
"Enjoyed celebrating the mimouna festival here. Live music, food, and of course the great galleries. FREE entry although the lockers could be slightly improved (ate my quarter) and require quarters."
