What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Ledge Amphitheater is praised as a world-class venue with great sound, free parking, and friendly staff, offering a unique experience nestled between quarries. While some find tickets pricey and seats uncomfortable for long durations, the overall atmosphere and diverse musical acts make it a highly recommended destination for live music enthusiasts.
"First time experience at this venue for the KANSAS concert. This is a world-class place. Easy, free parking, gate entry, and amenities. Several food trucks & beverage tents were set up for the event, along with a concessions area. Sound system and lighting were great.
There are video boards on each side of the stage. That's where I snagged most of these photos. However, the camera was almost constantly focused on the lead singer. The camera operator needed to share some love with the other six band members.
We really enjoyed the evening and will be going back for more sometime."
Scott Wilson
"The venue was smaller than expected but the sound was pretty good. The camera man for tonight's Goo Goo Doll concert was not good. He didn't follow the artist and was behind when the lead singer moved along the stage.... disappointing for the back attendees."
Erica Rivera
"Amazing venue for any genre!! Great seating!! Friendly staff!! My sister treated me and my brother and his wife to double delight of epic talents: Jefferson Starship and Kansas! 50 years of perfection!!
We all truly enjoyed ourselves and a few passing raindrops!!"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
When planning a family visit, consider bringing ear protection for younger children, as concert volumes can be high. Also, pack snacks and drinks if allowed (check venue policy) or be prepared to purchase them from the concessions. The 'rain or shine' policy means having a backup plan for inclement weather is wise, especially with kids.
💰 Budget Travelers
Consider packing your own food and non-alcoholic beverages if the venue's policy permits, as on-site food and drink prices can add up quickly. Keep an eye on the schedule for opening acts or less mainstream artists, as their tickets might be more affordable. Planning ahead and comparing ticket prices across different events can help you find the best value.

The Unique Quarry Setting
This unique environment contributes to the overall concert experience, offering a sense of place that resonates with visitors. The visual appeal of the quarry walls and water features, especially when lit up, creates a magical atmosphere that many concertgoers appreciate. It’s a key reason why many consider The Ledge a 'world-class place' and a Minnesota gem.
While the setting is a major draw, it's important to note that the 'rain or shine' policy means you might experience these beautiful surroundings in less-than-ideal weather. However, for many, the unique aesthetic is well worth braving the elements for a memorable musical event.
Concert Experience & Sound
Attendees generally praise the sound quality at The Ledge, describing it as 'pretty good' and contributing to an enjoyable listening experience. However, some reviews mention that the camera operators during live performances could improve, sometimes failing to capture the full band or lagging behind the action. This can be a minor drawback for those hoping for clear visual coverage of all performers, especially from further seating sections.
Despite minor critiques, the overall concert experience is highly regarded. The combination of diverse musical acts, good sound, and the unique venue setting creates memorable nights for music fans. Many visitors express a desire to return for future shows, highlighting the positive impact of the live music events held here.
