"Great beach access!
We were here, and the beach had many turtle 🐢 nests to see.
It was cool to see the herd of bunnies before you get to the beach.
If you don't want to walk on the beach, they have a great boardwalk to walk along and enjoy the ocean and sunset."

"This park is wonderful, my friend and I used to come here every Sunday evening and talk about how we cna help bring our brothers and sisters closer to Jesus Christ. Good ocean view and very pretty around dusk."
Tyler Snow
"Great little park with lifeguarded beach access. There are covered pavilions to rent for special events with charcoal grills, restroom facilities, and a small restaurant. There are two small parking lots as well as beachfront parking along the boardwalk. Watch out for taped off turtle nests as you are walking during nesting season, we absolutely love our wildlife here! Please fill your holes in the sand and take any garbage with you, and keep your eye on the horizon for some dolphin fins while you relax!"

Family Fun at Jaycee Beach Park
Beyond the standard beach activities, families can also enjoy the unique opportunity to spot wildlife. Keep an eye out for the playful bunnies that frequent the dunes and, during nesting season, observe the protected sea turtle nests from a respectful distance. The park's raised walkways over the dunes also make beach access easier for families with strollers or young children.
Remember to pack essentials like sunscreen, hats, and plenty of water. The Beach Toy Borrow Bin is a great initiative for kids to share and enjoy beach toys, adding an extra layer of fun to the visit.
Accessibility and Mobility Considerations
For individuals who are differently abled but not in a wheelchair, the steepness of the hills can make it difficult to descend and ascend. Even with a wheelchair, navigating the terrain might be challenging. Therefore, this park might be more suitable for individuals who do not face significant physical limitations.
Despite these challenges, the park offers covered cement picnic tables and shaded sitting areas uphill, which can be more accessible. Visitors are encouraged to assess their personal mobility needs before planning a visit to ensure a comfortable experience.
Wildlife Encounters and Conservation
Beyond the marine life, the park is also known for its population of bunnies that can often be seen hopping around the dunes. These charming creatures add to the park's appeal, especially for younger visitors.
Responsible park visitation is key to preserving this natural environment. Visitors are reminded to fill in any holes dug in the sand and to take all garbage with them to keep the beach clean and safe for wildlife. Observing dolphins from the shore is also a possibility, adding another layer of natural wonder to the experience.
