The John James Audubon Bridge is a standing piece of modern art connecting the English Hills of St. Francisville to the Creole Cane Fields of New Roads, both in Louisiana. There are several bridges across the mighty Mississippi in South Louisiana connecting Louisiana to itself, with this being the first as you head South. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the John James Audubon Bridge for its impressive modern architecture and its vital role as a connector across the Mississippi River. Many highlight the scenic views and the engineering marvel of its cable-stayed design. Some note the surrounding rural landscape, which adds to its unique charm.

"I retired from Flatiron Construction, the builder, about a year ago so try to get to as many of our projects as I can. The Audubon Bridge was great to go over and come back on today. The MISSISSIPPI is in flood stage and all the causeway on the east side of the bridge have been overrun. What a beautiful bridge it is. This is now one of the 3 longest cable stay bridges in North America."

Phil Sattler

"I remember when this bridge was completed. It connects gravel road LA-10 from Saint Francisville to Melville via New Roads.

Seriously LA-10 is a gravel road just west of this beautiful bridge. Sound familiar Southern Louisiana? You have a history connecting cane fields with megastructures like this new bridge :)"

The Audubon Bridge replaces the ferry between the communities of New Roads and St. Francisville. The bridge also serves as the only bridge structure on the Mississippi River between Natchez, Mississippi and Baton Rouge, Louisiana (approximately 90 river miles).

The bridge conveys Louisiana Highway 10, which is in a concurrence there with the Zachary Taylor Parkway."
