What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking summit views and the rewarding nature of the hike, despite its challenging incline and lack of shade. The spiritual significance of Bear Butte is frequently mentioned, adding a unique dimension to the experience. Some find the climb strenuous and advise ample preparation for sun and hydration.
"Nice hike. Views of the vast plains around are beautiful. Never heard about this park before, just noticed this mountain from the highway on the way to Yellowstone. I decided to take a closer look and wasn't disappointed at all. Hike is not challenging, but as was mentioned before - there is little shade along the way to the summit. We were hiking at noon so it was pretty hot. Coming thunderstorm had added great views from the summit!"
