"I’ll start with what was good. It was a comfortable bed. That’s the positive. Now for the negative . The hotel is like an old dog waiting to die. Upon check in, we asked for a room close to the elevator since I had recently hurt my knee. We were given a room on the second floor as far away from the elevator as possible. When my husband went back to the front desk the employee knew we would be back. We had to upgrade to get a closer room. Keep in mind there were NO people in the hotel.

We had dinner at the Asian restaurant only to find out our club credits are not accepted there. No signage to make customers aware and the restaurant is on the club app. The food was ok but we were the only ones there and the waitress stood over us the entire time making it uncomfortable.

The gaming floor has empty spots and yellow tape. Nothing near the number of slots it used to have.

We woke up this morning to drilling and hammering before 8 am. We were supposed to gamble today with 5X tier credits and stay tonight. But It just wasn’t worth it. So we left a day early. This used to be our favorite location. It’s a true disappointment. Find some place else to play !"

"I’m hoping the Horseshoe will do what they gotta do to stay open…the rooms are very outdated and really need a DEEP cleaning…we were on the 3rd floor..which is dark and dreary. The staff are always nice and helpful. We were carded (show license) or you cant go into the casino…we (3 adults in our 60’s) So we really didn’t understand the reasoning for this new protocol. We are just hopeful they are renovating and gonna keep the casino up to date on new machines and more great shows…"

"So, I debated whether or not to actually make this long post but here it goes....We stayed 3 nights at Horseshoe and there were both good and bad points... Yes, the rooms are VERY dated, but I noticed construction underway to renovates the rooms! Room was decently clean but could have been better. Game selection was good and I did see some payouts so that is always a positive. We did take in a concert, The Righteous Brothers, and it was very good! Way better than expected. The band , Aces Wild, at 1931 Lounges was phenomenal! Bets entertainment I have seen in a casino. We ate at Jack Binion's Steakhouse. The service and atmosphere were both excellent but the food was just marginal at best. Now, a couple of less appealing things I saw.... First of all the entrance area from the parking lot is dirty and has issues that could be a liability to travelers. Trip hazards (carpet coming up, tiles broken, dirty area) and an overall worn out appearance with unkept landscaping. Some simple maintenance could help. The front desk staff is not the friendliest I have encountered either. They do check your ID each time you enter the casino. Kind of a hassle but okay... Some people really were opposed to this. Sine we stayed 3 days we went in and out several times. Some of the staff were friendly and some really were NOT! I guess the hotel quit doing daily housekeeping during COVID (Not sure on that) but they are NOT doing it now. We really did not like this non-feature.... that means that you have to call housekeeping each time you want towels, coffee, water, etc...And the tiny trash cans were running over after a couple days. Come on America, time to get back to work! We did check out the pool. It has great potential but the area needs to be cleaned and the staff needs to be nicer. Overall, If you are getting comped for a room, it would be more than adequate but If you are paying full price (we were) you would like to see a bit more effort for your money. Staff is about 50/50... Some so nice and other so not! Summary... good potential but needs some improvement!"
