We stopped by the lit up Route 66 Historical Village in Tulsa. It’s a very small side stop but we recommend seeing it if you’re near Tulsa. We enjoyed looking at the lit up train and the buildings and vehicles surrounding the train. If you’re traveling on Route 66 this holiday season, check it out! #route66 #christmaslights #christmastime #familyfun #holiday #christmasdecorations #train #christma...

Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Route 66 Historical Village a charming and free stop, particularly for its impressive Frisco 4500 steam engine and Route 66 memorabilia. While some wish for more informational displays, the friendly staff and photo opportunities make it a worthwhile detour for road trippers and families. Parking can be a bit tight, but manageable with a short walk.

"The Route 66 Historical Village is a nice collection of railroad, oil field and Route 66 memorabilia. The train depot serves as a venue for rent so the village is sometimes unattended. We were free to walk around and enjoy all of the displays on our own. A nice collection."

Louis and Elaine

"The Route 66 village is a small tourist spot where you can take pictures, including one with a train. Parking is quite limited within the immediate area. However, if you drive a little further down, near the sign, you should find some additional parking spaces.

If the red box event area happens to be empty and you're planning a short visit, you might be able to park there as well. Please note that besides the photo opportunities with the signs and the train, there aren't many other attractions. It's primarily a place for tourists to capture some memorable pictures."

Tracy

"Stopped by to check this place out and ended up not only getting some cool video and photos but we also met two of the greeters who made our visit more memorable!

Only thing we would’ve liked that wasn’t there was posted info about each thing to look at (kinda like they do at museums) because we like to learn about what we’re seeing."
