What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery offers a place for reflection with notable burials like John Z. DeLorean. However, visitor experiences are mixed, with some praising the inscriptions while others report significant issues with grave marker delays, poor communication from staff, and inconsistent grounds maintenance, including overgrown areas and damaged markers.
"White Chapel Cemetery is decent overall, and I don’t have an issue with the cemetery itself. However, my experience working with William Oppenheim on my father’s grave marker has been extremely disappointing.
My father passed away in September 2024, and we began the process for his grave marker in March 2025. I understand these things take time, but after seven months, you would think it would have at least been sent to the factory to get started — yet here we are, with no progress at all.
There have been constant delays, poor communication, and complete lack of professionalism throughout the process. I approved the final design back in July, and I have written proof that it was received — yet months later, I was told it “was never received,” and the same sketch was simply resent.
Every update has depended on me reaching out first, and nothing has moved forward unless I pushed for it. This kind of disorganization and disregard is unacceptable, especially for grieving families trying to honor their loved ones.
Work with William at your own risk. I don’t want any other family to go through the same stress, disappointment, and emotional exhaustion that mine has endured.
I truly hope management addresses this issue and ensures no other family has to experience the same frustration and disappointment."

"This is a pretty well known cemetery in a busy part of Troy. The chapel is nice for services and the grounds generally good, but the interaction with the family service advisor (Randy) was poor. He unnecessarily made my wife jumped through hoops trying to bury her dad in the family plot that was purchased 50-60 years ago.
Our funeral home said White Chapel is the most difficult cemetery to work with. I can attest to that claim. Avoid them if you can. If you already have a family plot, confirm everything is in order long before you need it!"

"I'm really disappointed that the cemetery closes at 6 PM, especially during the summer months when daylight lasts much longer. I recently lost my nephew, and visiting him is very important to me. With many people working during the day, it becomes extremely difficult to find time to visit before closing. I truly hope the hours can be reconsidered to allow grieving families more flexibility."
