What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Starkey Gap Trail for its scenic, open vistas and its excellent connectivity to larger trail networks like the Pinellas Trail. It's a popular spot for biking, running, and walking, offering a peaceful escape. However, the lack of shade is a significant drawback, requiring visitors to come prepared for sun exposure and heat.
"My fiancé stumbled upon this trail on the map and took me here. What a great scenery. Took our dog with and she loved every minute! Reminds me of Duke Energy Trail because of how open it is and barely any shade or bathrooms. We went at a time where it was raining only a minute away but it was perfectly fine at the trail. We didn’t see much animals like people posted. Probs because we went a different way. Still very pretty."

"I recently did some exploring and came across this trail. It was so beautiful and serene. A must see!"

"I love the trail. It’s a paved path; great for biking, running, & walking. You can bike the trail to Starkey Wilderness Bike Trail. I like walking my dog here but it’s not my favorite place to take her (she got a tic from sniffing around in the grass). By the way, I’ve been on the trail for 30+ hours and never had a tic issue. My dog is a persistent, stubborn rascal who tried to blaze her own trail so serves her right for getting a tic on her first visit. Don’t worry though: the tic has been removed and Willow is happy & healthy!"
