What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Main Library Toledo Lucas County for its exceptional service, particularly its passport assistance and the magical children's section. The library is lauded as a welcoming community hub offering diverse programs and resources beyond books, though some may find navigating its extensive offerings a bit overwhelming initially.
"I was recommended here for my passport after the USPS wouldn’t do mine. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful! I’m not originally from Ohio and moved here two years ago, so I was unfamiliar with the library, as to which everyone helped me navigate not only the library, but the tools they offered too.
The passport lady, whose name I believe is Sidnee, was amazing! She carefully went over my documents, double-checked everything, and did photocopies for me for my birth certificate since it gets mailed out. She was very kind in the whole process, especially when she let me decide if I liked my passport picture.
Overall, an amazing experience and I recommend coming here for passports… and everything else too!"

"A Live at the Library event took place Thursday night starring Pat Byrne in concert. Pat is an Irish immigrant living in Texas making his living as an independent musician. I wasn't sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed my evening! There were about 200 in attendance for this free concert and it was well worth braving the cold to get there. His music style was varied, from love ballads to a sea shanty, and even something a little soulful, if that's the right word. Look him up on YouTube. One of my favorite songs of the evening was "Grey Skies Blue". I missed the title but another great song talked about how "we'll find another way". Other keepers were "Feels Like Living", and a fun little piece about how he "don't have social skills". 🤣 That last one you just can't take it too seriously. Audience favorite was "A Song For Mam"
In preparation for tonight's concert I did a little cheating and looked him up on YouTube, but those videos don't seem to do him justice. He was personable and engaging with the audience, and at times almost self-deprecating, and it worked! He drew us in like moths to a flame and we were hooked! It was the fastest 90-minute concert I've ever been to. I'm glad he made the effort to come to Toledo and hope he will consider coming back again..."

"I have a non-resident card for this library and have for some years now. Every time I’ve had to call to renew, staff has been very friendly and helpful. Their digital collection is amazing and, as a fellow librarian, I love getting their newsletters and seeing all the wonderful programs and services they offer to the community! I hope one day I’ll be able to come visit in person. ☺️"
