Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum as a hidden gem, offering a vast and beautifully curated collection across three floors. While the steep internal stairs and occasional inoperable accessible entrance are noted drawbacks, the engaging exhibits, knowledgeable staff, and affordable admission make it a highly recommended stop for families and history lovers alike.

"This is a very good museum. With admission, that was $7.00 for adults, which we happily paid. Set in an old courthouse, each room has a theme from pioneer history, a massive taxidermy collection, and beeswax from a 1600s shipwreck plus so much more. At the front desk, you get a map, and the sweet lady gives you a little history, and you are on your way. Spanning 3 stories, it's a lot to look at. We spent about an hour and half just wandering around, taking it all in."

"I took my mom in a wheelchair, which I don't advise: the museum sits in three levels, and the steps inside are steep, without an elevator. There is an accessible entrance on the back entrance, but it wasn't wiring when we visited.

Otherwise! The exhibits are fantastic and they really care about preservation and facts. There was a visiting exhibit about the first black woman given a federal land grant in Oregon, which is the first time I've ever heard of her. I was very pleased with the extensive knowledge of the team running the museum. Excellent if you don't have any trouble with stairs. A MUST if you have the time."

"$7 for adults, $5 for seniors. We really enjoyed walking through the museum from the rooms set in their historical setting to a room full of military veterans uniforms. We liked that everything was well marked.

A surprise to me was the huge second story natural history collection. I enjoyed that the displays weren't scary and would consider bringing animal loving small children who want to see a real one. I had a new appreciation for several of the animals and the time it took to put together the displays.

Don't miss out on the basement from a Buick to a Bike to saddles and a forest service tower... there is a lot to see.

Free easy parking on the street behind or on Laurel."
