What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Little Baldy offers spectacular 360-degree views from its unique granite dome summit, making the moderate hike worthwhile for many. While some find the switchbacks challenging and the initial views limited, the payoff at the top is consistently praised. Wildlife sightings add to the experience, though the small parking area can be a drawback.
"Honestly, it wasn’t my favorite hike. If you have limited time in the park you can probably skip this one. Dozens of steep switchbacks. Not much of a view until the end of the trail. It ends at a large rock face where you can see almost 360. A perk is it’s less crowded."
Matthew LaPenta
"My wife and I did this on our drive back from Sequoia to Fresno. It is a moderate hike due to the gain in elevation. If you are not in the best of shape, you might struggle a little. There were a few fallen trees across the trail, but they were not that difficult to navigate around. It is a zig zag trail going up the side on the way to the saddle. There is a pretty good gain in elevation. Once you are at the top, you almost hit 8,500 feet total. Don't be too concerned by that since you are already around 7,000 feet at the parking area. The views are beautiful."
James Ponicsan
"A moderate 3.4 mile out and back trail, with a total elevation gain of 850 Ft. Absoultely worth it for the views at the top.
You will most likely spot deers and marmots along the way. Enjoy!"
