Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the breathtaking beauty and unique experience of hiking The Narrows, calling it 'epic' and 'unforgettable.' The dramatic canyon walls and the immersive river hike are consistently praised. However, some find the water cold in cooler months, and crowds can be significant during peak times, necessitating early starts and proper gear.

"WE DID IT IN THE WINTER (December) in wet suits, which was excellent! However, don't expect to do more than one hour each way since the water is cold. Even with the wet suits. Was very worth it! #epic #fun"

"At the end of December 2021 I hiked The Narrows at Zion NP. I rented a suit from Zion Outfitters. I got on the 1st shuttle out of the visitors center at 8am. At the Temple of Sinawava by 8:25. I was the 2nd set of footprints on a fresh fallen show on my way out. I got through the farthest walkable part of Wallstreet that I could by 12. Stunning is an understatement! I saw absolutely no one until I turned around and then there was definitely a crowd. I got so lucky!!! Back to the shuttle stop by 2:30. I honestly took my time walking there and got all my pictures then. Definitely recommending shoe spikes for most of the snow covered rock portions of this also if you go in winter."

Heidi Jones

"Hiked the Narrows on Sept 11th. Started a little before 9. The first mile is paved sidewalks. The start of the river doesn't take long before you started get water over your knees/up to your waist depending how tall you are. There was some risks and warnings at this time because of algae build up from lack of rain. However the trek is beautiful, similar to slot canyons. Great set up for those of us that our less experienced and want to have the journey."
