"In October 2022, the four of us—dad, mom, me, and mom’s mom—drove by The Dalles Dam in a rented car. We didn’t stop for a long visit, but even from the car, the dam was impressive to see. Its massive concrete structure stretches across the Columbia River, and the surrounding water and landscape gave a real sense of the scale and power of this engineering feat. Driving past, we appreciated the mix of natural beauty and human ingenuity, and it made for a memorable part of our Oregon road trip."

"Closed for season. The building anyway. The rest of the park, and the trail, and the gorgeous rose garden are still accessible. These photos of mine are ugly as the color is messed up on my phone and I don't know how to fix it. I HAVE OTHER pics that I will post that are phenomenal. I love this place. We always feel like we have the whole place to ourselves, and I love that. You can walk down the trails to the Native American ancient style fishing platforms and if you're lucky, there may be a native out there using one. Their gov't owned camp is attached to this property. You can walk all around different areas, to the water, and under the expressway. There are spectacular views of the salmon and trout. Usually only see Sturgeon if their dead, but sometimes we see one of them to."
