Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Ybor City Museum State Park for its affordable admission and insightful exhibits on the area's immigrant history. The guided tours of the 'La Casitas' are a highlight, offering a tangible connection to the past. While some find the museum's 'wow' factor could be higher, its charm, the presence of roosters, and the beautiful gardens make it a worthwhile stop.
"Sandra was absolutely wonderful — warm, yet professional and incredibly organized.
She made us feel so taken care of from the very start. Sandra walked us through every step and showed us how to best utilize the event space. She offered thoughtful recommendations and ensured everything ran smoothly on the big day.
We held an outdoor wedding in July, and we’re so glad we rented Portacoolers! We highly recommend bringing in fans or coolers if you're planning a summer event.
The Ybor City Museum State Park is such a charming and unique venue. Sandra helped us bring it to life, and the garden felt like a hidden oasis in the heart of historic Ybor. If you love roosters, nostalgic Ybor, and a great outdoor space — this is it.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re considering this venue, you get to work with Sandra — and you’ll be in great hands.

"The history of the immigrants who developed Ybor City in the 19th century comes alive in the displays and 20 minute movie of the museum. The Italian, Sicilian, Cuban, Spanish and German immigrants brought their families and talents to augment the birth of the cigar industry. I love the historical display of the Cuban sandwich.
The Museum encompasses a courtyard with a fountain and several "shotgun houses" of workers, so named because you can fire a shot gun at the front door of the long thin houses and the shot comes out the back door.
This is a great experience for $4!"

"This is a museum you can visit that explains the history of Ybor City. There are two portions: an indoor museum area with exhibits and information, and a tour through daily life of historic Ybor City. The museum has lots of information, but doesn’t have enough ‘wow’ factor that doesn’t make things definitely worth visiting. However, you’ll still learn a lot.
You can get a paid 30 minute tour of some of the state-owned houses you can walk through. The park ranger guiding the tour is very knowledgeable about the house, what people usually did, social hierarchies, and technology at the time. Don’t forget to ask some insightful questions! Overall, this isn’t a top tier museum, but is still worth visiting."
