What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Rosamond Gifford Zoo for its well-maintained exhibits and the apparent good care of its animals. Many highlight the unique species and the manageable size, making it an enjoyable experience for families and those seeking a less overwhelming zoo visit. While some note the distance for out-of-towners, the overall sentiment is positive, with many appreciating the clean environment and friendly staff.
"An excellent small zoo. Not a huge number of animals, but some really interesting one that I've not seen in other zoos. Aside from the buildings with animal displays, there is also a series of freshly paved walking paths to outdoor exhibitions. Some of these paths are on fairly steep hills. At some of the outdoor displays there are very nice observation platforms with shade. Unlikely that we'll be back due to its location (4 hours away), but it was well worth the trip"

"This is an awesome zoo. The animals seem well taken care of, their enclosures are clean and vibrant. You can see the whole zoo in about 2 hours. There are random shows throughout the day and staff placed around the zoo with props to show and tell the kids some fun facts about specific animals. Noticed they have a saranac booth set up w snacks now near the elephants. Great place for the family."

"Awesome visit on a Friday. Very uncrowded and pleasant to walk around. Easy to see everything. I'll go more through the week again instead of the weekend."
