What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sunriver Resort is praised for its beautiful, peaceful grounds, excellent customer service, and family-friendly amenities like The Cove. Guests enjoy the cozy rooms with fireplaces and the extensive trail system. However, some visitors have noted issues with ADA accessibility and found the resort's 4-star rating to be a stretch, citing minor room limitations and high dining costs.
"I had the pleasure of staying at the Sunriver Resort for a conference in early October. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Lots of deer roaming around. I was in L228. It was on the ground floor with parking directly in front, but you did need to go up four steps. Something to be aware of if booking the first floor for accessibility. An easy fix would be to replace those steps with a ramp. The two bed room was cozy with a lovely patio overlooking the golf course. Beds were super comfy. The fireplace was an awesome touch. But the closet and desk were a tight squeeze. The service was first class. The shuttles were convenient and can pick you up in front of your room and bring you anywhere on the property. It was a wonderful experience at Sunriver Resort."

"We loved our stay here so much we are already thinking about when we could come back!! The staff is wonderful and the property is just stunning. Our room had a fireplace in it and we spent many hours by the fire reading and looking out at the views. We also loved that this is part of a community with wonderful walking trails through it."

"We requested an ADA accessible room but did not receive one. The request and reservation was confirmed multiple times. Even after we were moved from our original room (they put us upstairs), the one they replaced it with was also not ADA accessible. The room we ended up in was clean but it was difficult for our disabled family member to move around or safely use the bathroom. It also had stairs to get to the front door.
The outside lighting is poor and the signage is difficult to read so make sure you arrive during daylight hours. We did not use the pool, hot tubs, etc. due to the disabled family member. We also did not use the main lodge (stairs to get in-did not see a ramp) or the restaurant (due to the high cost of the food). The walking path is paved and is nice as it winds around the property amongst the trees and the golf course.
Sunriver Resort is listed as a 4-star resort but I believe that is a bit of a stretch. The rooms, and the the few employees we had direct contact with, were what you would see in a 2 or 3 start location.
Bend is a great area to visit with lots of outdoor activities, wonderful restaurants to dine in, and great scenery!
We are not likely to return to the Sunriver Resort due to the lack of ADA compliance. We received an email apology but that does not make-up for the problems in what should have been a special trip to celebrate a 90th birthday and Veteran's Day for our elderly disabled family member."
