What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Wahkeena Nature Preserve's charm, friendly nature center staff, and engaging exhibits, particularly the active beehive. The easy, interpretive hikes are praised for their educational value and the unique Boardwalk Trail offers a magical experience. While some note it can be buggy and hot, the overall sentiment is that it's a wonderful, free activity for families and nature lovers.
"This is the cutest park. Several small trails and don’t miss heading into the nature center. They had a few fun animals (turtles, snakes, etc) and they were super nice. Don’t miss checking out the bee hive that has an enclosure inside where you can see the bees working. That was great! Highly recommend stopping for a small hike and some fun education. We went a little late so it was hot and extra buggy. But it’s a nature preserve and like the person in the nature center said “I drove up here with the most dangerous animal right beside me”. So his point is perfect. Just shoo the bugs away. It’s all good!"
