What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe offers a mixed bag of experiences. While remodeled rooms and lake views are highlights, consistent issues with cleanliness, housekeeping, and air conditioning have been reported by some guests. Dining at the Oyster Bar is a strong positive, but overall value can be a concern for some.
"We stayed there 4 nights, sunset towers newly remodeled rooms with a balcony. While the view and first glance cleanliness of the place was great. As our nights progressed the room did not. Checked in Saturday place was great. Sunday we arrived back to our room with fresh towels and no new washcloths. No big deal we had 2 from the previous day. Monday, was gone all day, they scene to our room, didn’t remove ANY trash, replaced towels and zero washcloths. Had to hunt down a cart to ask for washcloths. Tuesday we left our room at 5:30 am and didn’t return until 7pm, NO ONE had been to our room to replace towels and washcloths. Called housekeeping 3 times staying on hold for 10 minutes each no one would ever answer. Started calling guest services after a 30 minute hold, finally got someone to answer to request fresh towels and washcloths. Our shower would not drain, I had to physically remove the grey grate system that covers the drain and remove God knows who’s hair 🤮. Housekeeping never made the beds, never took out trash, the hallway was littered with scraps and pieces of garbage along the hall.
Bar across from the blackjack table, servers were nice.
There was some not so great English speaking individuals working the coffee bar/breakfast place so your coffee order was, well let’s just hope for the best.
Construction didn’t bother us at all."

"my husband and I went to celebrate his birthday last weekend. I can’t say anything bad about the room, beautiful bathroom, clean and really comfortable beds. I loved to see my name on the tv giving me the welcome. You don’t have to walk a lot if you want go to the beach.
but, the air conditioner seemed is not working, my husband and I are always sleeping together in the same bed and cuddling, we had to sleep separate because it wasn’t cold or even cool.
I get it if breakfast isn’t include it, but they want to charge you $10 extra if you want to watch a movie, I paid $550 for one night by the way.
the hotel is nice and rooms are really pretty, service is okay, but you can get better options in Lake Tahoe and cheaper with breakfast include it."

"After reading some negative reviews, I was a little anxious for our stay. We had 3 rooms for our family, stayed for two nights in the Sunset tower, new beautiful clean rooms, (they don’t clean daily, unless requested, which was fine with us) pool was great, enjoyed the area, easy access to everything. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely will be back! The steakhouse downstairs was amazing and we had a great family dinner with amazing service and live music. Also, have to mention the lady that booked our reservations, she was great and made sure all our requests were met."
