What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise War Veterans Memorial Park for its beautiful waterfront views, excellent kayak and paddleboard access, and peaceful atmosphere. It's a beloved spot for outdoor recreation and quiet reflection, though some find the trailheads a bit difficult to locate.
"My "Go to" spot when I want to put kayak in the water either to fish or paddle (fishing sucks most of the time). It's easy to get in and out and there's an actual launch there so you can get away from careless boat drivers. There's even freshwater available to rinse kayak off, just bring your own hose."

"GREAT SPOT FOR PADDLE BOARDING AND KYAKING! There's a great little access at the very end of the park. It's a long drive, but its beautiful, so it goes by quick. There's a rack and fresh water hose to rinse your gear and allow it to dry while you load up the car. I feel like I'm sharing a secret that I should keep to myself, but that'd be selfish. This spot can't be beat for paddleboarding out to the islands, islands, and perfect for paddling with our dolphin friends."

"Lots of acreage & greenery!! More than one kayak/canoe launch. Tons of picnic tables & shelters. You can reserve one as well, which is nice for outdoor gatherings. I had a difficult time finding the trail head either no actual signage, but it was a nice little walk once I did find it. Has restrooms & lots of parking. Great spot!"
