"This is the second time that I visited the Abbey and the church. This is the first time though. I have seen the Great Hall which was the original Church. Both are stunning and architectural design and space. Truly a holy moment. So glad we stopped on our way back to the twin Cities."
John Toso
"Love it. I have visited Saint John’s Abbey once a year for several years now. I find it very meaningful to pray the hours with the monks. Their hospitality is unmatched. A truly striking place."
Michael McCormack
"I always love to visit the Abbey when I am in the area. It's worth your time to take a half hour break from your drive and meditate in one of the side chapels, take in the sacred beauty of the main Chapel or wander the grounds of both the Abbey and St. John's University. Consider joining the kinks for morning, afternoon or evening prayer....or late afternoon mass. A little walk beyond the Abbey will bring you to the cemetery... Also a lovely peaceful place to wander and contemplate life. The Abbey has a little gift shop in the great hall that is worth visiting and is usually staffed by one of the Benedictine Brothers. Also... If you have time, visit the bookstore foe the liturgical press. The monks of this Abbey have a deep connection to the Benedictine in Muenster Saskatchewan... A lovely little history of settlement whereby the people would come only if some of the kinks came with the. It's worth doing a little research and knowing the story. If you do stop by for a visit... Be sure to buy something in the gift shop or leave a little donation."
